It's March 2nd and we're having breakfast at a Perkins Restaurant in Albert Lee, Minnesota. This is our first day and very first stop on a long-awaited road trip to California. We planned to leave the “tundra” about two months ago when winter is at its' peak, but things just don't always go as planned.
When I went to the Mayo Clinic-Rochester, Minnesota in December the doctor recommended Glaucoma surgery, and he did not take kindly to my suggestion that we delay it for a few months. He also wanted me around for another four weeks to follow up. Then, the day before the scheduled surgery I found out that I tested positive for covid on the required presurgery test. Fortunately, I had very minor symptoms, however, the surgery was delayed a few more weeks.
We're now on a leisurely drive to Southern California with plans to arrive just in time for the spring roses and flowering trees at their blooming best and to enjoy some quality time with my brother, Fred, in Mission Viejo.
Hi Sue and Ron, sorry to hear about your health issues. Did you get tired of the Wisconsin snow and cold? Trip sounds lovely, greet Fred for me. My brother Ken used to take me there when he lived in Minnesota for a while.
ReplyDeleteKarl and I hope you have a great time in California.
Enjoy every minute. We send our love with you for Fred. Take care.
